The holidays are almost here and it's almost time to put your Christmas decor out if you haven't already! When it comes to putting up your Christmas Tree, you may need to rearrange your furniture to get your tree to fit just right. Whether you're in a new home this year or simply want to change up the look of your Christmas decor this year, our
furniture store at the Lake of the Ozarks has some tips for rearranging your furniture for your Christmas tree. Read on to get five tips!
1) Decide On a Focal Point
First, decide which room you will enjoy your tree the most. Typically we put our trees up in the living room but depending on how much space you have to work with you may need to consider a different room. Your tree should be a safe distance from fireplaces and high trafficked areas.
2) Empty Your Space
After you choose which room to put your tree, sometimes it's best to empty the room first. Starting fresh will often give you a new perspective on the room. After the room is empty decide where to put your tree and then start moving your furniture back into the room. Sometimes trial and error is the best way to find the perfect furniture arrangement.
3) Rearrange or Remove Furniture
Your furniture is important, especially during the holidays but you may need to rearrange or possibly remove a few things to accommodate your tree. You probably don't want to move out any major furniture like couches and chairs but you may be able to sacrifice an end table and a lamp. It's important to still be able to use your living room while you have your tree up.
4) Repurpose Furniture in Other Rooms
Just because you move your furniture out of your living room doesn't mean you can't use it all. Consider moving it into adjacent rooms if possible so you can still use it if you plan on having a big party or gathering over the holidays.
5) Be Realistic About Tree Size
Almost everyone wants the biggest and best tree in their home but you may want to be realistic about the size of your home and the size of your tree. If you are planning on having a large gathering for Christmas you may want to downsize your tree to make plenty of room guests. If having a big tree is a must, then you may just want to put up your tree in a different room where guests won't be seated and out of the way.
