Eldon Furniture Carries HGTV Home Town Collection!

Eldon Furniture is excited to carry the new line of furniture by Erin & Ben Napier from the popular show Home Town! Erin & Ben partnered with Vaughan Bassett to develop multiple collections of both solid wood and veneered casegoods collections. Their goal is to showcase American-made products and their commitment to their love of their home town in Laurel, Mississippi and being serious about revitalizing small-town America. Eldon Furniture is proud to support this line of American-made furniture at our furniture store at the Lake of the Ozarks! Find out more about this new collection below!

Erin & Ben's Story

Laurel Mercantile Co.

In 1901, the Laurel Mercantile Co. opened in downtown Laurel and was a bastion of commerce in our city, supplying dry goods and work wares until the 1930s. As industry changed, so did the needs and eventually the doors closed. Many decades have passed and “The City Beautiful” is seeing a revival as a haven for entrepreneurs, artists, and makers. In 2016 a partnership was formed between the Napiers, Nowells and Rasberrys, 3 couples made up of family and long-time best friends. They used their combined expertise in history, design, historic preservation, organizational management, finance and accounting to reopen Laurel’s bygone hometown store. The doors of the new Laurel Mercantile Co. opened on Front Street in December 2016. LMCo. is the only place to find our signature collection including Scotsman Co., the store’s flagship brand of Ben’s handmade reclaimed furniture and gentlemen’s workwear, American-made heirloom wares and durable goods for home and life.

After the launch of HGTV’s Home Town, we were approached by overseas companies for furniture line development with national distribution. Growing up in North Carolina, Ben remembered the small factory towns that had been shuttered and left empty when manufacturing moved overseas. Thinking of the countless, American families who suffered in the aftermath, we knew there had to be a better way to make furniture.

Vaughan-Bassett, the largest manufacturer of wooden residential furniture in the United States, is committed to their hometown of Galax, Virginia, just like we are committed to our hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. We’ve partnered to create two antique-inspired furniture lines crafted by 600 American workers. LMCo. Home and Scotsman American Heirloom will soon be available in stores across the United States. If we’re going to be serious about revitalizing small town America, we have to be serious about making things in America.
