Game Day Essentials for The BIG Game! 🏈🛋️📺

The Big Game everyone has been anticipating is almost here! On Sunday, February 7th, The Cheifs will play two years in a row! This will be an exciting day for millions of fans in Missouri! With the game less than two weeks away, it's time to start prepping for those game day essentials! Read on to get a few ideas from our furniture store at the Lake of the Ozarks! 



#1 Comfy Recliner 

The ultimate way to kick back and relax on gameday is in a nice comfy recliner! Recliners are great for kicking your feet up during the game. There really isn't a better way to relax than to sink into a comfy recliner! Since there won't be any referees at your home, you may want to consider getting more than one to avoid a fight for the best seat in the house!



#2 Gameday Snacks

Of course, no game day is complete without some delicious game-day snacks. Check out a few delicious recipes to try this season below!

Chicken Taquitos

Ingredients


10 6- inch soft flour tortillas
1 cup cooked finely-diced chicken
1 cup Sargento 4 Cheese Mexican shredded cheese
1/3 cup salsa or taco sauce
Optional garnishes for serving: salsa guacamole, sour cream, olives, sliced green onion

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together chicken, cheese, and salsa.
  2. Divide chicken mixture evenly down the side of each tortilla. Roll up tortilla and place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  3. Continue filling remaining tortillas.
  4. When all tortillas are lined up on the baking sheet, spray tops with cooking spray to help them brown and crisp in the oven.

Bake taquitos at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until crispy.

Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders 

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1 teaspoon dried minced onion
24 Martin's Party Potato Rolls
12 slices creamy Havarti cheese, sliced thinly
24 slices Virginia Baked Ham, sliced thinly

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup melted butter with 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds, and 1 teaspoon dried minced onion. Whisk to combine.
  2. Slice the tops off the rolls and carefully set them aside until ready to use. Lay the bottom halves of the rolls in a 13x9 casserole dish.
  3. Layer cheese slices on the rolls and layer ham slices on top of the cheese. I lay one slice of ham on each bun.
  4. Carefully place the bun lids on top of the ham and pour on the buttery mustard glaze. If the glaze is too thick you can heat it in the microwave to thin it out a bit for pouring or you can brush it on. Either works fine.

Bake in the oven preheated to 350°F for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is nicely melted and the sliders are warmed through. Serve and enjoy!

After the snacks are made, the game is on, and you're sunk into your recliner, you won't want to get up! A side table is perfect for keeping your drinks, snacks, and remotes close so won't have to miss a single play!

#4 Sofa 

If you host frequent gameday parties at your home, you'll want to make sure that your guests have a comfy place to sit. A sofa or sectional is the perfect place for your guests to cheer on their favorite team! 

#5 Entertainment Center 

You'll want the game to be at the optimal viewing height. An entertainment center is ideal creating a stadium feel in your home and when you're not watching the game, it can also add a great design element in your home.
