Choose Durable Fabric 

There are a lot of choices for fabric selection for your new couch. Natural fabrics and synthetics, both offer durability but making sure that they are good quality before you buy.

Choose a Sturdy Frame 

A sturdy frame in your couch is one of the most important things to consider when choosing a durable couch. Frames built from thick, laminated hardwoods are a good choice. Choosing a couch that has fewer joints and larger pieces of wood is another good idea.

Choose a Couch with Heavy Duty Metal Springs 

Even though you likely won't be able to visually see the springs in the couch, what you can do is sit on the couch and feel how firm it is. Test out the couch and make sure the springs feel sturdy and tightly spaced together.

Take Great Care of Your Couch! 

Even if you purchase the most durable couch on the market it's important to take care of it! If you don't take good care of your couch it will likely wear out quicker than you are expecting. Vacuum your fabric couch at least once per month and for leather couches, be sure you clean up spills as they occur and condition them every six months.
